American Samoa's governors Togiola Tulafono has called a special session of the Legislature to convene today to deal with the financial crisis at the LBJ Medical Center.

Lawmakers went into recess last Friday but the governor later called the special session after three key pieces of legislation remained outstanding.

These include a ten million US dollar loan to fund the off island medical referral program, 8 million to fund the hospital's activities; and a bill to dissolve the hospital board authority and bring the institution under the direct control of the Health Department.
