Church college in Samoa bans students from town following stabbing

11:34 am on 17 February 2012

The Methodist Church's Leva'ula College in Samoa has banned students from going to the capital Apia at the end of school each day after a student was attacked by men armed with a knife.

The college principal has written to parents, saying the incident has been referred to police for investigation but the security of students has prompted the ban.

Sources within the school say the student suffered knife wounds to his stomach and on a leg.
