Sport: 'Ikale Tahi coach keen stay on until 2015 World Cup

Tongan rugby coach Isitolo Maka says he wants to continue in the role and lead the 'Ikale Tahi team into the next World Cup.

Maka was in charge of the 'Ikale Tahi team which upset France at last year's tournament in New Zealand and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the quarter finals.

His contract expires at the end of next month, following his commitments with the National 'A' team in the Pacific Rugby Cup competition.

Maka says he'd love to stay on and continue the development of the Tongan squad through until the 2015 World Cup in England.

"I'm hoping to continue if I get selected again. I had to make decisions on whether to continue or not. I had to talk to my family and all that - get them involved and make that decision. We decided to have another crack at it and if I get selected again to take it for another four years it's beyond my control but I just hope and wish to continue."

Isitolo Maka's Tonga A team play the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney on Friday tonight, with Samoa A playing Sydney University in the curtain raiser.
