Cook Islands hotel group to host some of Christchurch earthquake heroes

The Cook Islands Pacific Resort Hotel Group is preparing to host nine couples chosen as heroes of last February's earthquake in Christchurch.

A group of Cantabrians has already arrived in the Cooks for a free holidays being given to a total of 41 New Zealand couples by various accommodation providers.

The General Manager of Marketing and Communications Rawinia Lange says the guests will be staying at one of three of the Hotel Group's resorts next month.

"So we have Pacific Resort in Rarotonga which we're doing a five night package which includes breakfast as well as an island night cultural show and dinner. And also at our Pacific Resort Aitutaki resort also including a cultural night and dinner. And then our luxury villa complex, Te Manava."

Rawinia Lange says each holiday package is worth about 2,000 New Zealand dollars per couple.
