The Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union says the country's sevens team is suffering from old age and a lack of size.

After Samoa finished fourth in Wellington at the weekend, the SRU Chairman, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Maleilegaoi, said the players are putting in the effort but are being outmuscled and a large chunk of the team is showing its age.

Samoa will face New Zealand, Australia and Japan in pool play in Las Vegas.
