The New Zealand Law Society is refusing to respond to criticism by the Fiji interim government over job advertisements in the Society's magazine.
The Fiji regime has released a statement quoting an email from the New Zealand Law Society Board saying it will not accept advertisements for legal positions in Fiji under the current military regime.
Fiji's Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, says it's unfortunate the society was involving itself in politics and preventing New Zealanders from hearing about job vacancies in Fiji.
He says it amounts to censorship.
Mr Pryde says he is concerned New Zealand lawyers continue to have an inaccurate picture of Fiji, its judiciary and courts.
He says his invitation to the Law Society to visit Fiji still stands.
