Fiji regime offers tax incentive for flood relief donations

The Fiji interim government has endorsed a tax incentive for donations made towards the Prime Minister's 2012 flood relief fund.

The information ministry says this is in relation to the contributions made to the fund established by the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

The ministry says cabinet based its decision on a submission by the Prime Minister who said that a 200% tax deduction will be allowed for cash donations exceeding 1,000 Fiji dollars to the Flood Appeal Fund.

It says the incentive will be effective until the end of March.
