Pension fund to help Fiji flood victims

11:23 am on 30 January 2012

Fiji's interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, says the Fiji National Provident Fund will assist some flood affected families.

According to FBC News, Commodore Bainimarama has told people in Semo village that assistance will be available from the fund but only for those who were in the worst affected areas.

The FNPF had earlier in the week stated it would not provide flood assistance like it did in 2009.

Commodore Bainimarama has been visiting the west of the country which has suffered serious flood damage.
