The Samoa Rugby Union has thanked those involved with helping the players injured in an accident at Vaoala on Saturday.

17 players from the Samoa A team were injured when a truck the team was travelling in went off the road.

The union says all of the players are recovering well and none of them have life threatening injuries.

It has thanked the local judge, police, fire and hospital staff as well as the player's families for their support and understanding.

The SRU says it is looking at ways to prevent any recurrence of the accident in the future.

It says the upcoming tour to Australia and New Zealand by the Samoa A team is still scheduled to go ahead.
