Guam to consider banning cell phone use by drivers

2:46 pm on 29 December 2011

The Guam Committee on Public Safety is to hear testimony on a bill that would ban drivers from using cell phones.

Bill 397, introduced by Senator Tom Ada, would make using mobile phones to make voice calls while operating a vehicle on Guam's roads illegal.

The Pacific Daily News reports Senator Ada unsuccessfully pushed for similar legislation in the past.

Senators will also discuss Bill 389, which would mandate drug testing for all government of Guam employees.
