The American Samoa senator Seui Laau Sr. passed away last night at LBJ Medical Center at the age of 69.
His son, Larry Sanitoa says his father passed away peacefully with the family present along with the senator's wife, Palepa.
Governor Togiola Tulafono along with cabinet members and other senators attended a church service at the hospital chapel after Seui passed away.
Seui had served in the past as a cabinet member and entered the senate in 2009 serving his first term in office.
