American Samoa's Consumer Price Index, which measures the cost of goods and services, went up by 9.1 percent in the second quarter of this year.
This is an increase of 2.1 percent from the first quarter of 2011.
Our correspondent says all major categories registered increases.
The only groups that did not change were education and communication.
