Sport: Cook Islands CISNOC board survives vote

11:37 am on 10 November 2011

The Board of the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee has narrowly survived a vote of no confidence at a Special General Meeting in Rarotonga on Tuesday local time.

The meeting was called following a request by the leaders of 12 national sports federations.

They signed a letter to the CISNOC Executive Board demanding answers over the organisation's financial state and calling for the entire executive to resign.

At a heated meeting last night a non-binding vote to require the board to resign was tied 19-19.

Brian Baudinet from Cook Islands Tennis says CISNOC also attempted to change the agenda for the meeting, despite having agreed to it previously.
