The President of the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee says the current executive is not to blame for the organisations difficult financial position.
A Special General Meeting will be held next week in Rarotonga after 12 individual sports federations signed a letter demanding urgent answers CISNOC's financial state.

"The President of CISNOC, Sir Geoffrey Henry, says the organisations finances have never been healthy and were already in a bad way when the current executive took charge in 2009. He says CISNOC had planned to hold a meeting in December as it was still waiting on some individual reports from the Pacific Games. But he says staff are working extremely hard to prepare all of the information in time for the meeting on Tuesday local time. Among the debts is an emergency loan of NZ$126 000 from the Cook Islands government to send Team Cook Islands to the Pacific Games. Sir Geoffrey says CISNOC will address the concerns of the various sports federations on Tuesday."
