The police in Fiji say trade unionist Daniel Urai is likely to have charges laid against him soon.

Mr Urai was detained by police over the weekend on his return from Australia where he attended a meeting calling on people to boycott the Fiji tourism industry.

The assistant commissioner of police, Henry Brown, says Mr Urai is being questioned in relation to ongoing criminal investigations and police also expect to question other people in relation to the investigation.
