Fijian champions Ba marked their return to the Oceania Champions League with a come from behind 2-1 win over New Caledonia side Mont Dore.

A pair of second-half strikes from Avinesh Suwamy was enough to secure the three points after Jose Hmae had given the visitors the lead at the break.

The Ba President, Rishikendra Kumar says he was pleased with the home sides fightback, especially considering they had a number of players unavailable.

"We have used six new players in our starting line-up as the other six players were getting injuries and they were not fit. Come our next game they will be fit enough to take the field so we will be full strength."

In the other matches from the opening round, defending champions Auckland City won 4-1 at Koloale thanks to two-goals each from Manel Exposito and David Mulligan.

Waitakere United thrashed Tahitian champs Tefana 10-0, while last seasons runners up Amicale were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Hekari United.
