Cook Islands police are treating the death of a man, believed to be from Fiji, as suspicious.
His body was discovered in Avatiu harbour on Rarotonga.
The Cook Islands News says it is believed the man had come to the country with a barge contracted to transport equipment between Rarotonga and northern group islands for infrastructure development.
The police commissioner Maara Tetava says the cause of death is not known yet.
