The Fiji Rugby Union is confident it can find a top coach in time for the start of the IRB World Sevens series at the end of next month.

The FRU Board decided at their board meeting last week to advertise for a new sevens head coach, after Joe Savou had taken charge of the final two tournaments last season.

Savou also coached Fiji at the Pacific Games in New Caledonia last month, where they finished runners-up behind Samoa.

The Union's Acting CEO, Pio Bosco Tikoisuva, says despite being just six weeks out from the start of a new season, he's confident they can find a top coach in time.

"I think six weeks is still plenty of time for us - you know we've got so much talent and potential. The board thinks that let's have a look at it and I'm sure we've still got a lot of talent here, it is just a matter of putting the right combinations on."
