There are more financial woes for the Vanuatu government with revelations the 52 members of parliament haven't been paid their allowances for the last six extra-ordinary sessions.
The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Ioane Simon, says the amount due the MPs is nearly half a million US dollars.
The six extra-ordinary sessions of the parliament followed months of political instability which saw six changes of government in half a year.
The government has been struggling to meet allowances due to students overseas, grants for schools and wages for some teachers.
