Sport: Fiji well prepared for Samoa clash

7:41 am on 24 September 2011

Fiji insist they aren't feeling any added pressure ahead of tomorrow's Rugby World Cup clash against Pacific rivals Samoa at Eden Park.

Both sides need to win the match to keep their quarter final chances alive, with Wales likely to be untroubled when they face Namibia on Monday.

Flying Fijians coach Sam Domoni says the team has prepared well this week and he's confident they've learnt some important lessons from last week's heavy defeat against the Springboks.

"The game against South Africa has helped us a lot. It's come at a good time, we've still got two games to prove ourselves and they are very winnable games. It requires a lot of work from us and we are doing that and everything that we've prepared for this week going into the game has been positive and, as I said earlier, we're in the right state of mind to execute what's needed."

Manu Samoa insist they're comfortable under the spotlight and have moved on from last week's loss to Wales.

Halfback Junior Poluleuligaga says the team hasn't been distracted by the hype surrounding their chances ahead of Sunday's game.

Comes with what we've achieved on our Northern Hemisphere tour and also our good win against Australia. But you know the boys are ready for it and we're just totally focused on Fiji at the moment, forget about that Wales game last week,

Kick off between Samoa and Fiji is 3-thirty tomorrow afternoon.
