Pacific Forum chair says access to climate change funding needs to be easier

The Pacific Islands Forum Chair, New Zealand's Prime Minister, John Key, says it needs to be easier for Pacific countries to access climate change funding.

A number of leaders have called for funds to be made more available to countries vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

John Key says much of today's post-Forum dialogue was taken up by the issue of donor coordination.

"The point that was made time and again actually by leaders both the recipient and donors countries is that we can do a lot better job if we work together and if we don't swap these often small countries within individual donor programmes which are hard for them to administer."

John Key says it is an issue for leaders to take away and continue to work on.
