Sport; Tennis, baseball and basketball centre stage at Pacific Games

Tennis, baseball and basketball will decide their champions at the Pacific games in New Caledonia today

"The games host will feature strongly in the singles and doubles finals in the tennis while a new winner will be crowned in the baseball with Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands to contest the final in Mont Dore."

In the men's basketball final New Caledonia will face Guam tonight in Paita for the gold medal.

In the women's draw it's a battle of the territories with the host up against Tahiti

New Caledonia has made the final of both the men's and women's football tournaments.

The men's side beat Tahiti Nui 3-1 in yesterday's semi finals while the host nation's women edged Tonga 3-2.

Solomon Islands has won the right to face New Caledonia in the men's final after an extra time 2-1 win against Fiji while PNG, with a four nil victory against Fiji, has earned their third consecutive appearance in a Pacific Games women's final

Meanwhile New Caledonia has surged over the 200 mark on the medal table with 93 of those gold.

Tahiti has collected 45 gold and 108 medals all up
