Sport: Two game suspension for Warriors back rower

11:15 am on 18 August 2011

The Warriors backrower, Ukuma Ta'ai, was unsuccessful last night in his bid to downgrade his grade two striking charge at the NRL judiciary.

The panel found the Tongan's challenge on Newcastle's James McManus last Saturday at Mount Smart Stadium was worthy of a two-match suspension, so he'll miss the games against Penrith on Saturday and St George Illawarra next week.

But the Canterbury and Kiwis backrower Frank Pritchard is free to play against Manly on Sunday after a successful appeal against the grading of his careless high tackle charge.

Because of his good recent record Pritchard escaped any suspension.
