Governor rebuked for saying American Samoa government ignoring Manu'a

The governor of American Samoa's Manu'a district, Misaalefua Hudson, has been publicly rebuked by the territorial governor, Togiola Tulafono, for claiming the government ignores the island group.

Togiola says educating a child in Manu'a is four times more expensive than the costs on the main island of Tutuila.

He also pointed out that residents on the main island subsidise the electricity provided on Manu'a by the power utility.

Togiola says transportation is the main challenge for Manu'a and he says Misa should've restricted his comments to this issue.

The governor also says most of the cabinet is from Manu'a and Misa's comments discredit their efforts.
