Papua New Guinea has won the East-Asia Pacific Division One cricket title with a comprehensive 58 run victory over Vanuatu in the final in Port Moresby yesterday.

The Barramundi's took advantage of several early dropped catches and missed run out opportunities to set the imposing total of 5-195.

Player of the tournament Tony Ura continued his fine form with a quickfire 48 before being clean bowled by Andrew Mansale.

Patrick Matautaava was the pick of the Vanuatu bowlers with 2-41.

In reply, Simpson Obed fought hard in the middle stages for his 31, while Trevor Langa and Patrick Matautaava added 28 and 36 respectively, but the visitors could only muster 137.

Andrew Mansale says it was still a good week for his side and he's convinced that if they can stay together for five or six more years the team will continue to get better.

Meanwhile Samoa beat Fiji by 32 runs in the playoff for third place.
