Fiji police are investigating undisclosed allegations concerning the Cakaudrove paramount chief, the Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.
The Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua has told FBC News that investigations are continuing but declined to say what the probe is focusing on.
FBC News says Ratu Naiqama is believed to be investigated for two cases, related to events on the island of Taveuni where he lives.
