A conference opens in Jayapura in the Indonesian province of Papua today to broaden understanding of the concept of the region as a Land of Peace.
Organised by the Papua Peace Network, the conference also aims to discuss ways to make the concept a reality.
Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Djoko Suyanto, will present the views of the national government.
Other dignitaries are also expected to share their views along with 200 indigenous Papuans representing all the regencies of Papua and West Papua.
Another 350 Papuans are witnessing the Conference, which finishes on Thursday.
