Cook Islands lose both matches at Touch World Cup

The Cook Islands have some ground to make up after losing both matches on day two of the Touch Rugby World Cup in Edinburgh.

After two wins from three on the opening day earnt them a place in the elite cup group, the men's senior team lost 8-7 in a tight clash with the unbeaten Japan, before closing with a 4-4 draw against South Africa.

New Zealand and Japan are the only teams still with a perfect five win record, although South Africa are also unbeaten.

In the mixed open grade Niue drew 3-3 with England in their first clash of the day before a comfortable 12-4 victory over the USA.
