The Samoan government has taken its complaint against New Zealand's TV3 to the High Court after the New Zealand Broadcasting Standards Authority rejected it.
Last month, the BSA said the government was given fair and reasonable opportunity to respond to allegations of financial mismanagement following the 2009 tsunami broadcast on the Campbell Live programme.
But, the office of the Attorney General in Apia says the appeal will claim that the BSA decision is wrong and ought to have found the Campbell Live reports were unfair, misleading and inaccurate.
In a statement, the prime minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, says the government continues to insist that all aid money given to Samoa has been carefully spent and accounted for.
Tuila'epa points out that the reputation of all of Samoa has been sullied by Campbell Live.
