The Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Hawai'i.

The MOU is a commitment between the two institutions to promote collaborative research, educational developments and enrich understanding.

AUT University will provide a 12 month full-time exchange for students and staff each year.

The Director of Pasifika Advancement at AUT University, Pauline Winter, says the MOU will

bring many benefits.

"So this is AUT's way of reaching out into the Pacific. We have a large number of Pacific students on our campuses back in Auckland, many of them connect with the Pacific and so we are starting way up here at Hawai'i."
