The police in Samoa have charged three young men with murder following the death of a 19 year-old man last Saturday at Vaitele fou village, just outside of the capital, Apia.
The police say the deceased was allegedly beaten and assaulted by the three accused following a dispute.
Vaitele fou, which is part of Faleata west constituency, has seen a marked increase in burglary and violence.
The increase in crime led to police recently launching a new neighborhood watch programme, Malu i ou Tuaoi, in the area.
