Fiji started their defence of the Pacific Cup netball series in perfect fashion, outclassing main rivals Samoa 48-35 on Tuesday night.
The two teams are using the tournament in PNG as preparation for next months world championships in Singapore.
In the later game, hosts Papua New Guinea came up short, losing 51-34 against the Cook Islands.
