A 34-year-old mother from Tuana'imato in Samoa has been charged with infanticide for abandoning her new-born baby at Vaitele.
Assistant Police Commissioner, Le'aupepe Fatu Pula says the woman is in custody and should in appear in Court this week.
The accused has five children.
The baby was found by a 19-year-old boy from Vaitele while on his way to fetch firewood.
