CNMI introduces more gambling and other revenue generating measures

In the Northern Marianas, more gambling and other revenue-generating measures will soon be introduced by members of the House leadership, but through local bills that do not need the approval of the Senate.

The Senate is opposed to House bills and House local bills legalizing casino gambling on Saipan, and would rather see Saipan voters decide the issue.

Representative Froilan Tenorio said it makes no sense to introduce bills that the Senate will surely kill, as with his Saipan casino bill last year.

Mr Tenorio said among the bills that the House leadership plans to introduce through local bills are Internet gambling, Texas Hold 'Em poker, and skeet shooting.
