Savou: Fiji will be underdogs in London Sevens

10:54 am on 10 May 2011

The recently-installed Fiji Sevens coach says the team will be underdogs heading into the final two tournaments of the season.

Savou replaced Iliesa Tanivula nearly a month ago after a sustained run of poor form by the national team, who've haven't won a tournament since last February.

He's in charge for the remaining two tournaments in London and Edinburgh and says while he was promoted to the top job because the team wasn't performing he doesn't feel any added pressure.

"Not at all. I think it's always like that - the public wants the team to win and it's up to the coaching staff how they handle expectation. It's normal and focusing more on the the preparation and selection of team and we can move forward."

Fiji leave next week for the London Sevens, which begins on the 21st of May.
