Fiji and Brunei set up diplomatic relations

Fiji and Brunei have agreed to explore and facilitate mutual trade and beneficial exchanges.

According to FBC News, the agreement follows the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The step was taken in New York where a joint communique was signed by Fiji's Permanent representative to the UN and his Brunei counterpart.

The two countries agreed to assist each other in areas of common interest at the United Nations, particularly within the context of the Asian Group.
