Fiji soldiers included in Britain's resettlement packages

Britain is promising comprehensive resettlement packages to soldiers made redundant in a planned downsizing of its army.

FijiLive reports an official at the British High Commission in Suva, Vineeta Nand, as saying soldiers from Fiji would be on the same footing as any others made redundant.

The website reports that more than 3,000 Fiji-born men and women are in the British Army.

Ms Nand says the resettlement packages will be to help the soldiers adjust to civilian life.
