Several hotels and restaurants in New Caledonia have committed to give ten percent of last Saturday's turnover to help Japan's tsunami victims.

The campaign was launched in solidarity with the people of Japan affected by last month's disaster.

In addition, special promotional t-shirts were put up for sale at the restaurants, the hotels and at tTe international airport.

Japan is the main stop-over point for travellers between New Caledonia and France.
