Samoa A were left lamenting silly mistakes and a lack of composure after losing their latest Pacific Rugby Cup match 33-0 against the Hurricanes development side in Porirua on Saturday.
The visitors muscled up early and didn't concede a try until mid-way through the opening half but failed to take their opportunities on attack, frustrating their coach Selefuti, Patu.
"That's the problem with these boys - when they see the scoring line they just play individually, not as a team. But I hope that the Wellington team showed us how to play. They played - especially in the ruck areas or the breakdowns - they came in with numbers and blew us away. We were very late to support our players so we should have got some points."
Samoa international Anthony Perenise was a second-half substitute for the Hurricanes development side, with national coach Titimaea Tafua a keen observer on the sideline in his role as the Samoan team's technical advisor.
In the other matches played on Friday night, Fiji Warriors were thumped 55-7 by the Crusader Knights, while Tonga A went down 50-13 against the Chiefs development team.
