Vanuatu's Prime Minister Sato Kilman has promised to tackle corrupt politicians.

This comes after the release of a damning report alleging corruption by former and present ministers spanning many years.

The Daily Post newspaper reports Mr Kilman saying senior officials from the ministry of lands who are implicated in the report, will also be investigated and punished if they're guilty.

The secretary to the public service commissioner, Sumbe Antas, says the minister of Lands, Harry Iauko, wants four officials from the department sacked.

Mr Kilman says he's determined those mentioned in the report, from ministers down, are investigated and dealt with according to the law.
