New Zealand debutant admits torn loyalties ahead of Wellington Sevens

The new cap in the New Zealand Sevens team for the Wellington leg of the IRB World Series admits to an element of divided loyalties.

Counties Manukau speedster David Raikuna was born in Fiji but come Friday he'll make his international debut in the black jersey.

He says he's still not quite sure how he will feel if he faces up against his countrymen in the knockout stages, but says he does expect to get a bit of stick from the Fiji boys.

"Early stage growing up I always watched the New Zealand team competition with Fiji. Always went for Fiji but now in the New Zealand team I'm not sure what's going with that. It is going to be a hard game if we do come up against them and a lot of the boys say if you do go up against Fiji go hard and take them down."
