The American Samoa StarKist Samoa cannery is planning to resume full production by the end of the week as final repairs are been made to its facility following Cyclone Wilma.

A company spokesperson Mary Sestric says several roof panels throughout the cannery were damaged, including the main packing room.

But she says all panels have now been replaced and the cannery will be back to partial production today and tomorrow, while additional repairs are carried out.

She says all 1480 workers have been asked to return to work starting tomorrow.

With production down over the last few days about 70 employees have been onsite working to get the plant operating again.
