Samoa Red Cross board seeks answers about accounts

5:05 pm on 11 January 2011

The board members of the Samoa Red Cross have called a meeting with the organisation's CEO to discuss the reasons behind the suspension of the accountant.

The suspended senior financial officer has refused to hand over books and other office properties.

The chief executive officer, Namulau'ulu Tautala Mauala, says she took the action because some payments of supplies and services to the Red Cross for last year have not been made.

The Samoa Red Cross has postponed its annual general meeting from last year to await the report of the appointed committee.
