Marc Gisquel is seen as the top attraction in a field dominated by Europeans preparing for the Australian season.
Among them will be Gilles Mueller of Luxembourg.
The 2009 champion, Florian Mayer of Germany, has reached the top 40 in the world and cannot compete as the Noumea tournament is open to players ranked between 50 and 300.
