The windshield of a police vehicle was smashed from a stoning incident on Christmas Eve in Pava'ia'i village.

It's suspected that young people stoned the police vehicle when officers were responding to complaints about the noise from bamboo guns.

The guns are a homemade device which uses kerosene and fire chanelled through a hollow opening to let off a loud explosion.

Bamboo guns were originally made from the trunk of the bamboo tree but nowadays people use iron pipes.

Creating the guns, known as Faga ofe, to make noise is very popular during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
