2:55 pm on 2 December 2010

The deputy speaker of Vanuatu's parliament has indicated that a motion of no-confidence against the government will be debated in the house this afternoon.

Philip Boedoro, who will preside over the session in the absence of the Speaker George Wells, says the 12 opposition members deposited the motion against the prime minister Edward Natapei last week.

Mr Natapei left the country this morning to attend the UN climate change summit in Mexico.
