Motion of no confidence to be lodged against Vanuatu's prime minister

8:38 am on 29 November 2010

A motion of no confidence against Vanuatu's prime minister, Edward Natapei, will be debated in Parliament this week.

The motion was given to the Speaker, George Wells, by opposition leader, Maxime Carlot Korman.

Our correspondent in Port Vila says the new motion cites the decrease in the 2011 budget and moves by the government to reduce opposition MPs as the reason behind the opposition's latest motion.
