Fiji's Chief state prosecutor, Ayesha Jinasena, is promising to raise the standards of work in the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.

Ms Jinasena was appointed to the position last month and she aims to improve the corporate image of the Public Prosecutors office and motivate her young lawyers.

She has told Fiji Live that the majority of lawyers are juniors, who have not been exposed to court procedures.

She says the plan is to provide officers with proper working clothes so that they present themselves in a professional manner.
