Fiji interim regime moves against US executive of Fiji Water

9:32 am on 19 November 2010

The Fiji interim government has reportedly expelled an American executive of Fiji Water, David Roth.

FBC News reports that Mr Roth left Fiji on a flight to the US last night but says his family is still in Fiji.

It is not known why the interim regime acted removed Mr Roth, who worked for one of the key export companies.

Yesterday, the interim government's spokeswoman, Sharon Smith-Johns, said that nothing had come through from immigration about the issue.

On Tuesday, Fiji's former interim defence and immigration minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau, said he resigned because of disagreement over how to deal with Mr Roth.
