"Lopa Seti who challenged incumbent Galumalemana Bill Satele confirmed that he is asking the court to stop the Election Commissioner from certifying Galumalemana as the winner. Mr Seti says full details of the court action will be known after his attorney his challenge in the High court today. The results of last Tuesday's elections gave Galumalemana 438 votes and Mr Seti 226 ballots. Lopa Seti has previously served as the tuala-tai representative in the House. Meanwhile Election Commissioner, Soliai Tuipine, has denied Laolagi Vaeao's request for a recount of the House election results for Manu'a District Number 2, Ofu, Olosega and Sili. Laolagi said yesterday the Commissioner notified him by letter that after consultations with the Election Office lawyers, he has decided that there was no legal grounds to grant him a recount.
